Enablence and ShunYun Complete Vietnam Production Setup for AI Data Centre Optics

Enablence and ShunYun's Vietnam facility prepares for high-volume production of optical technology for AI data centres

Enablence Technologies and ShunYun Technology have completed volume-production readiness at a new optical manufacturing facility in Vietnam, strengthening the supply chain for high-speed connectivity used in AI data centres.

Enablence Technologies and semiconductor assembly specialist ShunYun Technology have completed production qualification at their Vietnam facility, with production samples now available for customer evaluation. The facility has successfully qualified its major production equipment and is initially producing Enablence's passive optical components, with samples already provided to key North American customers. The manufacturing setup is designed to support growing demand for 800G and 1.6T optical technologies used in AI data centres and high-performance networking.

The development also gives Enablence a broader manufacturing footprint outside China. Its supply chain now combines chip design in Ottawa, Canada, wafer fabrication and specialised processing in Fremont, California, and high-volume packaging and assembly through ShunYun's facility in Vietnam. The companies see this structure as a way to provide North American cloud and optical-networking customers with an alternative supply route as AI data-centre operators increasingly require faster, higher-bandwidth optical connectivity.

The Vietnam operation is expected to support technologies including 800G/1.6T optics, co-packaged optics and linear-drive optical solutions, areas becoming increasingly important as AI clusters grow in size and require faster communication between computing systems. The partnership therefore represents not just a manufacturing expansion, but also an effort to build a more diversified optical supply chain for the rapidly expanding AI infrastructure market.
