Anthropic Launches Claude for Financial Advisors With Major Wealth Platforms

Claude AI connects with financial platforms used by wealth advisors

Anthropic has launched Claude for Financial Advisors, a new suite designed to bring its AI assistant directly into the software and data systems used by wealth managers. The product connects Claude with platforms including BlackRock, Charles Schwab, Addepar, Envestnet, iCapital, Orion, Wealthbox and Wealth.com, allowing financial advisors to work across multiple sources from a single AI interface.

The system is built around research, client-meeting preparation, portfolio analysis, follow-up and documentation rather than replacing an advisor's decision-making. Anthropic said regulated activities, including investment recommendations, client communications and compliance decisions, remain subject to human review and approval.

Claude Connects to Existing Advisor Systems

The new platform uses connectors to bring information from custodians, portfolio-management systems, CRMs, financial-planning platforms and other tools into Claude. Charles Schwab, for example, is connecting its Advisor Services data, including client balances, positions, transactions and alerts, while Addepar provides access to portfolio data and analytics.

Other integrations cover alternative investments, financial plans, client records and estate and tax information. The aim is to reduce the need for advisors to manually pull information from several systems before preparing for a client meeting or reviewing a household's financial position.

AI Handles Research and Meeting Preparation

Claude for Financial Advisors includes workflow skills for tasks such as advisor onboarding, alternative-investment briefs, portfolio reviews, compliance checks, meeting preparation and post-meeting follow-ups.

The system can gather relevant client information, summarise it and prepare drafts for the advisor. It can also stage administrative actions such as CRM updates and draft client communications, but the advisor remains responsible for reviewing and approving those actions before they are carried out.

Human Approval Remains Required

Anthropic has designed the product for regulated financial environments, where AI-generated information cannot simply be treated as an automatic final decision. Investment recommendations, client communications and compliance determinations require human review and approval.

The platform also includes compliance-focused tools that can flag potentially problematic client-facing language and help firms document their AI workflows. Anthropic recommends its Enterprise plans for registered investment advisers because they include audit logs that support recordkeeping requirements.

Anthropic Expands Its Financial Services Push

The launch puts Claude deeper into the day-to-day operations of wealth-management firms as AI companies compete to build specialised tools for financial professionals. Anthropic has already developed AI capabilities for areas such as investment research, financial modelling and financial-document analysis.

For financial advisors, the immediate value is less about handing investment decisions to AI and more about reducing the administrative work surrounding those decisions. By connecting Claude to the systems firms already use, Anthropic is positioning the tool as an additional layer across existing financial workflows rather than another standalone dashboard.
