Info Edge Appoints Himanshu Agarwal as CFO and Whole-Time Director
Info Edge (India), the parent company of Naukri, has appointed Himanshu Agarwal as Chief Financial Officer and Additional Director as part of a leadership reshuffle announced on September 14. Agarwal will take charge on September 17 and will also serve as Whole-Time Director, subject to shareholder and other applicable approvals.
The appointment ends Ambarish Raghuvanshi’s tenure as Info Edge’s interim CFO at the close of business on September 16. Raghuvanshi will continue as a Finance Adviser and Senior Management Personnel until October 31 to support the transition and handover.
Agarwal Brings More Than Three Decades of Experience
Agarwal joins Info Edge with more than 30 years of experience in finance leadership, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and business transformation. His most recent position was Chief Financial Officer at Cohance Lifesciences.
Before that, he held senior finance roles at companies including ICI India, AstraZeneca Pharma India, AkzoNobel India, Huhtamaki and Bennett, Coleman and Company. His appointment places him in charge of Info Edge’s financial leadership as the company continues to operate businesses across recruitment, real estate and education.
Board Also Brings Back Former Adobe India Chief
Info Edge has also appointed Naresh Chand Gupta as an Additional Director in the independent category, effective October 1. Gupta is set to become a Non-Executive Independent Director for a five-year term, subject to shareholder approval and other applicable requirements.
Gupta previously served as Managing Director of Adobe Systems India and had earlier been an independent director on Info Edge’s board. He currently serves as an independent director at eClerx Services and NoPaperForms.
Leadership Transition Begins This Month
Agarwal’s appointment combines the CFO role with a board-level position, giving him responsibility for both financial management and executive oversight. His proposed Whole-Time Director term will run for five years from September 17, subject to the required approvals.
Info Edge has also reconstituted its Risk Management Committee and Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting Committee, with Agarwal joining both from September 17. Raghuvanshi’s continued advisory role is intended to provide a transition period before his association with the company ends.
The leadership changes come as Info Edge continues to manage a portfolio of digital businesses led by platforms such as Naukri and 99acres. The new finance leadership will oversee the company's financial strategy and governance as it moves into the next phase of its business operations.
