Verda Raises €163M to Scale Full-Stack AI Cloud

Verda raises €163 million to expand its full-stack AI cloud infrastructure

Finnish AI infrastructure startup Verda has raised €163 million in new funding to expand its full-stack AI cloud and increase the computing capacity available to AI developers and enterprises. The financing includes an oversubscribed Series B led by Emergence Capital, alongside additional investment from a group of strategic and institutional investors.

The Helsinki-based company plans to use the funding across its AI cloud stack, from physical compute capacity to platform services and AI-focused infrastructure. Verda also plans to significantly increase its compute capacity over the next year as demand for AI infrastructure continues to grow.

Verda Targets the Full AI Cloud Stack

Unlike cloud providers focused primarily on individual infrastructure layers, Verda operates across the AI computing stack. Its services cover compute capacity, cloud platform tools and infrastructure designed for AI research and development.

The company is also increasing its focus on inference, an area becoming increasingly important as AI models move from training into large-scale deployment and real-world applications.

Emergence Capital Leads Series B

The Series B was led by Emergence Capital and included participation from MUFG Innovation Partners, Supermicro, Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company, Lifeline Ventures, ENDUR, 6 Degrees Capital, byFounders and Tesi, alongside angel investors.

The financing has helped Verda reach unicorn status, with its valuation exceeding $1 billion. DLA Piper separately reported the funding round at approximately $189 million, reflecting the dollar value of the financing.

Expansion Across Europe, US and Asia

Verda recently opened offices in London and San Francisco and is planning further expansion across Europe, the United States and Asia. The company says the new capital will support its ability to serve a growing international customer base while expanding its infrastructure footprint.

Verda's expansion comes as AI companies face increasing demand for high-performance computing capacity. The company says its strategy is focused on closing the gap between available AI compute and the capacity required by frontier AI teams and newer agentic AI applications.

AI Compute Demand Drives Infrastructure Investment

The latest funding reflects the continuing investment in the infrastructure required to develop and operate advanced AI systems. Verda is positioning its cloud as an integrated environment where customers can access computing resources and the software services needed to build and deploy AI applications.

With the new financing, the company plans to accelerate product development, expand compute capacity and develop additional inference capabilities as AI workloads continue to move toward large-scale commercial deployment.
