Vietnam Begins Feasibility Study for 300MW AI Data Center Campus
Vietnam is moving ahead with plans for a major AI and cloud data-center campus in Ho Chi Minh City, with Stavian Hightech Infrastructure beginning a comprehensive feasibility study backed by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). The project, called Stavian Digital Park, is being designed as a carrier-neutral development for hyperscale cloud providers, enterprises, government systems and AI workloads.
Stavian has appointed Cushman & Wakefield to lead the study, while telecommunications specialist APTelecom will support connectivity and digital-infrastructure planning. The study will assess whether the proposed campus can become a commercially viable and scalable part of Vietnam’s growing digital infrastructure market.
Campus Targets 300MW by 2030
The planned Stavian Digital Park would cover around 300 hectares, with its first phase targeting 300MW of power capacity by 2030. The campus is also planned to have access to international subsea connectivity of up to 200 Tbps.
The development is intended to accommodate global cloud providers, enterprises, government digital infrastructure, content-delivery networks and AI computing workloads. On-site solar generation and other renewable-energy infrastructure are also part of the proposed design.
Study Covers Power, Connectivity and Sustainability
The feasibility assessment includes 15 workstreams covering market demand, site suitability, power infrastructure, telecommunications, cooling, financial viability, sustainability, regulations and implementation.
The study will produce a master plan, financial model and procurement framework. It will also examine the conditions required to make the project bankable and attract future investment.
U.S. Agency Supports Trusted Infrastructure
USTDA is funding the feasibility study as part of its broader effort to support digital infrastructure projects in emerging markets. The agency said the project could create opportunities for U.S. companies to provide technology and expertise for Vietnam’s expanding AI and cloud infrastructure.
The planned campus would also require customers to use secure equipment, while its carrier-neutral structure is intended to allow participation from multiple telecommunications providers.
Vietnam Seeks Larger AI Infrastructure Capacity
The project comes as Vietnam's data-center market expands alongside demand for cloud computing and artificial intelligence. Cushman & Wakefield said Ho Chi Minh City's data-center development pipeline reached 68MW in the first half of 2026, more than twice the city's existing operational capacity.
For Stavian, the proposed digital park is part of a broader ambition to attract international technology investment and strengthen Vietnam's position in regional AI and cloud infrastructure. The current feasibility study will determine the technical, financial and commercial framework needed before the project can move toward implementation.
